A lot of people wonder how they can afford a doula who charges hundreds of dollars for labour support. Is it really worth it? The short answer is, YES! Doulas can spend up to 40 hours with you, including pre and postnatal appointments, and continuous labour/birth support. If you would really love to have a doula, but don’t think you can afford it, ask your family/friends to contribute money to a “doula fund” at your baby shower.

I occasionally take clients who are unable to pay the full rate, but may refer you to Mothercraft’s Birth Companion Program in the event that I am fully booked.

My fee is $550 and includes:

• 2 Prenatal visits
• Continuous phone and email support throughout pregnancy and up to 2 weeks postpartum
• 24-hour on-call phone and email support from 38 weeks of pregnancy until birth
• Labour and birth support, until approximately 1-2 hours after birth
• Breastfeeding Peer Support
• 1 Postpartum visit*
*I am available to schedule extra in the event that you require more support.
